DHHS
Dirkmarine Hydro Heating System
The DHHS® is an energy recovery system developed by Dirkmarine feeding of the energy from the surrounding water, being on a lake, river or the sea. Fluid or frozen water, warm or cold weather, the DHHS® system will keep your desired indoor temperature. The system is integrated in the Dirkmarine HUBB®, and delivers cost efficient and maintenance free energy for the HVAC system which is heating, cooling and delivering hot water for the floating home.
The system provides a maintenance free delivery of energy for the HVAC system. Combined with a ground source heatpump, the system deliver 4/5 of the necessary energy for heating or cooling of the building. The last 1/5 of energy is the electrical power necessary to drive the system. This can be taken from the normal grid, or be powered from the sun via a PV and battery system for the vessel.
In the shown example, the heating system in the vessel in question is driven by solar power from the shown PV panels. In the daytime excess energy is stored in a battery bank, which is driving the electrical systems on the vessel during the night time.
Instead of collecting energy in a battery system, energy humps from the PV energy production may be purchased or buffered by the grid. When this is possible, this is the most efficient way to minimise energy consumption, benefitting both the cost plan of the vessel owner and the environment.
