Over the past 25 years HUBB®’s has predominantly been utilized as base for floating homes, but also hybrid hull designs involving a combination of closed cell polystyrene and concrete, concrete wave dampening hulls, hexagon shaped hulls, floating ring-deck constructions for swimming pools and swimming zones, floating sauna’s etc.
The integration in the hull of the Dirkmarine DHHS® system provides a 100 year maintenance free energy recovery system which deliver cost effective heating, cooling and hot water for the house on top.
In combination this gives a product HUBB® which support your life, wellbeing and safety in a cost effective way.
The Dirkmarine HUBB® can be used as a replacement platform for existing houseboats and floating homes. Some houseboats which have been produced many years ago face problems because of deterioration in the hull. The Dirkmarine HUBB® can be a solution to this problem.

No Regular Dockings
A Dirkmarine HUBB® shall never leave its mooring because of docking or maintenance. Hulls are designed to handle tidal conditions, and can stand on the ground at low tide.
Sustainability
The estimated CO2 footprint from the production of concrete is approx. 72 kg per ts. This means, that the production of a concrete hull of 100 ts emits approx. 7200 kgs of CO2.
Considering the 100 year lifespan of the product, the emission is then 7,2 kgs per year, and therefore diminutive per year. Add to this figure, that the product shall never be maintained, painted, worked on, handled by tugboats and docked as all other ships. This is what we call real sustainability.
